The Calder
Last week I went along to the opening of The Calder, the new contemporary art space at The Hepworth Wakefield. There's something magical about The Hepworth at night, the purple grey mass against the dusk northern sky. The Calder feels wild and wooly in comparison to the Hepworth's stark white cube essence. The inaugural exhibition, Roger Hiorns work exploring the relationship between the human form and the everyday objects that surround us has found its home in the heart of Wakefield's industrial heritage. I loved the quote from Charlotte Higgins in The Guardian, 'if the Tate Modern has it's Tanks, the Hepworth is to have its Calder'. And embrace our Calder we shall.

Peter Jensen SS13 Presentation
A few pictures from a trip me and Claire took to The Hepworth a few weeks ago for the Peter Jensen SS13 Presentation. The collection is inspired by Barbara Hepworth so naturally the surroundings were the perfect setting. It was nice to see the models wandering around the gallery spaces in amongst the Hepworth sculptures. I always really enjoy it when The Hepworth host these kind of events, I remember a while ago they did a late with Moshi Moshi that was really good fun.
