Last week I had a small taste of what's to come from the wonderful Lambert's Yard at their launch evening. I'd been excited to see the developments ever since I heard about the project months ago now and had been watching their instagram closely [@lambertsyard]. The idea is a simple, brilliant one, take one of Leeds' oldest buildings and lovingly restore it to it's former glory with a new modern purpose. The plan is to turn Lambert's Yard into a concept department store and creative space to cultivate Northern talent. For the moment a pop-up of Leeds independents [including the terrific Colours May Vary] inhabits the space with an exhibition upstairs curated by Cheryl Newman, photography director of the Telegraph Magazine. It's so good to see an independent, alternate and exciting response to change and treading the magnificent parquet flooring was quite a treat.
